We‘re still working on the completion of Cabbalu Tales Vol. 1:Without Perfection. We will hopefully have up to 10 stories by Chicago Con…at least that’s the plan anyway. One of the stories I am sooo looking forward to is one called “Always Greener!” The name obviously refering to “the grass is always greener” because there are two groups of soldiers who are separated by a raging river. Each group wants to be on the other side to avoid the danger heading their way. Also the name “Always Greener” refers to the fact that the two groups of soldiers are about as green as they get. Both are inexperienced and keep making matters worse by following through with bad ideas.
I handed Cooper the “bone” of the story, as I like to call it and he will add the meat! As detailed as I think I might have made the story before handing it off…it always comes back so much better then I am capable of miking it.
The story starts somewhere in the middle and jumps from event to event finally catching the reader up to the end. They go from 16 soldiers to around 5 or 6. Whether they get eaten, drown, smashed or sliced…they always seem to find away to worsen their foothold on the situation. Actually, I think one of them even gets a little gassed (drunk).
The story stars some of my favorite characters from book I: Field Guide. It has Cojak (the leader of the D.B.C.), Self (a Cropone Medic) and Darrynillious (who led a small group of soldiers through Nolly and discovered Steedz). Plus there are quite a few other colorful characters that have there turn in the spotlight as well.
We are on the verge of having another new story completed for Vol. 1 as well. I will have to post it as soon sas I get the pictures ready. until then, I hope this gets you enterested!
